Terms and privacy
What you agree to when you use SYNTHIEN AI, and what happens to the data you bring to it.
Terms of Service
Last updated September 17, 2026
These terms set out the agreement between you and SYNTHIEN AI when you use the workspace. We have kept them short and in plain language.
Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using SYNTHIEN AI (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you accept these terms for that organization and confirm you are authorized to do so.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
Your account
You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
You agree to provide accurate account information and to be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
Acceptable use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. Do not upload content you have no right to use, attempt to breach or overload the Service, reverse-engineer it, or use it to build a competing product.
You are responsible for the documents, notes, and questions you bring to the Service, and for confirming you hold the rights to process them.
Your content
You keep ownership of the documents, notes, sheets, and conversations you create or upload. You grant us a limited license to store and process them solely to operate the Service for you, for example to retrieve passages and produce cited answers.
We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train third-party models without your consent.
Balance and payment
Runs are metered against a prepaid balance, which you buy in one-time packs and which the Service shows to you in US dollars. A run’s cost is based on the tokens its model uses, and you are charged for what a run actually uses, never the estimate.
Prices and rates may change, and we will give notice of changes before they take effect. Payments are handled by our payment processor; we never store your card details.
Refunds
All purchases are final. A purchased balance is non-refundable, whether you have used it or not, and it cannot be exchanged for cash.
Your balance does not expire, so anything unused stays in your workspace for later runs. Deleting your workspace deletes its balance.
If we charged you in error, for example twice for one purchase or for a pack that never reached your workspace, contact [email protected] and we will refund that charge in full. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Availability and disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is.” We may add, change, or remove features, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Language models can be wrong or incomplete, so every answer carries its sources for you to verify, and you are responsible for checking outputs before relying on them.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SYNTHIEN AI is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will make it prominent before it takes effect; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.

Privacy Policy
Last updated September 11, 2026
This policy explains what SYNTHIEN AI collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can and keep your content scoped to your workspace.
What we collect
Account information you give us, such as your email address. Usage data about how the Service runs, such as which models you use and what a run costs. And the content you bring: the documents, notes, sheets, and conversations in your workspace.
Payments are processed by our payment provider. We receive a record that a purchase happened; we never see or store your card number.
How we use your data
We use your data to run the Service: to answer your questions, retrieve and cite passages, meter what runs cost, keep the Service secure and reliable, and support you when you ask.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your content to advertise to you.
Your documents and the models
Your content is scoped to your tenant and isolated per project. It is processed to answer your questions and is not used to train third-party models without your consent.
When you choose a local model, your content stays on your own infrastructure. When you choose a cloud model (for example ChatGPT or DeepSeek), the content needed to answer your question is sent to that provider to generate the response, under their terms.
Sharing and disclosure
We share data only with service providers who help us run the Service, such as hosting and payment processors, under contracts that limit them to that purpose, and with the model providers you choose to run.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety, rights, or security of our users and the Service.
Storage, security, and retention
Data is encrypted in transit and protected by access controls. We keep your content while your account is active and delete it when you remove it or close your account, subject to short operational backups and any legal retention we are required to keep.
Your rights and choices
You can access, correct, export, or delete your content from within the workspace, and you can ask us to delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data.
To make a request, contact [email protected].
Cookies
We use the cookies needed to sign you in and keep your session, and one more that remembers your theme: “syn_theme”, a first-party preference cookie that holds only dark, light or system, carries no identifier, and expires after a year. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the Service changes. If an update is material, we will make it prominent before it takes effect.
